We received anassignment from school called: “Stage skills” the intention was that you would make a self-chosen media expression with a program that you did not know or had not mastered, in order to build up knowledge and skills for, among other things as an internship.
I have chosen to use blender, blender is a software with which you can do everything regarding 3d modeling, sculpting, animation and much more.
I didn 't want to do it quickly and I really wanted to give myself a challenge since I had no experience at all in blender. In the end I chose to make a render of a landscape that I wanted to make it look as realistic as possible, so it wasn 't easy. I started with a particular blender addon called “A.N.T.Landscape” that add-on gave me the ability to generate a landscape. You could adjust all kinds of things yourself, such as the height, how many Mountains and much more. Then I searched for textures and continued with the trees I modeled simple in 3d it is called a: “low poly tree” which means it consists of simple shapes then Iused the built-in partice system in blender to generate the branches and leaves randomly. I did the same with the trees themselves on the landscape that are also placed on the landscape with the particle system. Then i added all the textures and an hdri for the exposure an hdri is an asset the gives you a certain exposure and the sky and clouds. In the end I rendered the whole scene and added nodes to make the lighting and colors a bit better.
I learned a lot in this assignment, I had no experience at all in blender I didn 't even know how the UI (user interface) worked. At the moment I know how the UI works and thebasics. I am not very advanced what concerns my skill. I 'm not into it yet but I plan to use blender more often in future projects for school and personal and hopefully master blender even more.
Here you can find a kind of promo video of the render/animation made in after effects. And below you can also see more renders and some photos I took during the making process in blender.
